#OpenCity2015 Highlights

Over the years, Open City HFX has become a day I look forward to every spring. You should check out some of my previous posts because there’s always just way too much stuff to cover in one post.

In fact, I’m not even going to attempt it. Instead, I’ll just share some of my highest highlights; some of my favourite stops that I made it to as I rode my bike around town, eating, tweeting, and communing with goats.

There are few things I love more than experiencing all that our community has to offer. I love that this event seems to grow with every passing year. Can’t wait For #OpenCity2016!

What did you folks get to experience?

  1. I had to miss it this year – hated to! I agree with your highlight approach. It’s almost impossible to keep track of everything. Actually, my best way to illustrate how much of the downtown you cover while taking part in Open City is using my Map My Walk app. Last time we covered a LOT of territory.

It’s always such a nice way to wander the city and check out some places you/I wouldn’t normally seek out, or test some fun new-to-you restaurants.

I will just have to look forward to City Harvest in the Fall.

    • I know! There’s so much good stuff. For me all the discounts are a great way to get some tasty treats and experiences that I might not be able to afford regularly otherwise.

      • I agree! My NS BFF and I typically make a list of “must do” things for that day and we often plan it around food for lunch, etc., at places we either know are amazing (Hello, McKelvies Fish Chowder!) or treats we wouldn’t normally have (Oh look a GINORMOUS ice cream cone with fudge mix-ins from Sugah!). Add to this the excellent discounts at galleries and gift shops and you have a wonderful day planned. Have you gone to City Harvest? Or Nocturne? Or even Neptune’s open house? There are so many great ways to sample Halifax. 😀
