Influenster Product Review: Lancôme GRANDIÔSE Mascara

Influenster

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Long live lush lashes.

As I mentioned in a previous review, I’m not huge on makeup. I would, however, consider myself somewhat of a mascara connoisseur–as it’s one of the two products that I wear most days to work (the other being a tinted moisturizer).

When it comes to getting glitzy with nighttime mascara, I want DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA and so far Benefit They’re Real has got me covered. (But that’s not what this review is about, is it?)

For a daytime mascara, when I’m heading to work or oot and aboot, I’m pretty flexible about the criteria . All I’m looking for is:

  • rich colour
  • moderate lengthening
  • smooth formula (no clumping)
  • water resistant (I turn on the crocodile tears at the drop of a hat)
  • fairly easy removal

Still, I’m always open to trying new brands, particularly when I’ve received one for testing purposes. When I knew to expect the Lancôme Grandiose mascara, I opened my Influenster Vox Box open-minded and ready to discover a new favorite product.

The prettiest package.
The prettiest package.

To go beyond the initial appeal of the pretty applicator (the little embedded rose reminds me of Beauty and the Beast), I applied it daily so I could really formulate an opinion. My verdict? Grandiose is a fab mascara if you’re looking to add moderately dramatic black length to your lashes. The curved wand makes for easy, ambidextrous application. It didn’t clump and the formula was smooth. It was a great daytime mascara option.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING (just mascara)

Unfortunately, it doesn’t pass the cry test and can get a bit smudgy…okay a lot smudgy. I really made use of my eye-makeup remover with this one.

Opt for the comedy or action instead of the sappy, sad movie this weekend and you’ll be fine.
