List o’ the Day

Food. As I’ve mentioned before, I have a handful of food allergies. Most of these I developed as an adult (lucky me! Wait. I’m a what now?) and I’d say the most disappointing is dairy. I’m a big lover of lattes, cheeses, and creamy soups. With this in mind, I’ll try almost anything that promises to satisfy the cravings of something rich and indulgent.

Here’s my list of top 5 I-can’t-believe-there’s-no-cow-diary foods:

1. So Delicious Coconut Milk

  • Best use: cereal

2. Avocados

  • Best use: guacamole

3. Goat’s Milk Cheese

  • Best use: pizza

4. Almond milk

  • Best use: coffee

5. Mayonnaise

  • Best use: curried, or as an aioli for sweet potatoes

  1. Whaaaa? That seems so crazy! I would definitely try it…but it brings me back to that age-old dilemma: just where can a girl get a good starter in this one-horse town? Also, if someone can get me a good sourdough starter, that would make my life.
